Installation and Storage Instructions

  • 1. Check the packing list to ensure all parts were received (see packing list attached) using the description and photos in the packing list identify Xtenders, extension brackets, underside brackets and inner brackets.

    2. Check to see if the U-Bolts that secure the existing fender brackets to the sprayer frame are snug to the frame and tighten if required. Important: Loose U-bolts may result in breakage.

    3. Attach two of the extension brackets supplied to each of the Xtender using the predrilled holes in each fender:

    a. Lay the poly Xtender on its curved outer edge. Sandwich the Xtender between the underside bracket and extension bracket. Important: align the end of the extension bracket with the red dot toward the flat inner edge of the Fender extensions.

    b. Hand thread the 1” x 3/8” bolt with the supplied lock washer through the underside bracket and the fender holes into the tapped holes on the bottom of the extension bracket.

    c. Align the end of the extension bracket flush with the inner edge of the Fender extensions and tighten the Extension bracket bolts using 30 ft.- pounds of torque.

    d. Repeat for the second bracket on the fender.

    4. Attach the inner fender brackets:

    a. Remove the pair of bolts holding fender on the sprayer bracket. Placing the inner fender bracket on top of the fender with the coupling nut facing up and toward the outside of the fender, secure using the supplied 2” x 3/8” bolt, your existing flat washers on top and bottom, and the provided locking nut. Push bracket inward on slotted holes and tighten.

    b. Repeat for the other bracket on the fender.

    5. Installing the Xtenders:

    a. Use a 1-1/8 socket to remove the ¾” x 2” keeper bolts from the coupling nuts on the inner fender bracket. (Save these bolts to reinstall when Xtenders are removed for use with narrow tires)

    b. Lift the Xtender and brackets into place and use the ¾” x 11.5” Xtender bolts and the ¾”lock washer to attach the fender to coupling nut on the inner brackets. Starting with the top bolt, hand-thread the bolt a few turns before using the 1-1/8” socket to snug up the bolts.

    c. The fender should fit snugly with no gap between the Xtenders and the existing fenders. If the fender does not fit snugly or appears to be too tight loosen the bolts on the slotted inner brackets and adjust accordingly.

    6. Recheck all of your bolts.

    7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for all four fenders and you should be “ready to go”.

    8. To remove Xtenders (for use with narrow tires):

    a. Unfasten the ¾” x 11.5’ bolts and remove the fenders. Thread ¾” x 2” keeper bolts

into the coupling nuts to keep threads clean.

    9. Storing your fenders.

Important: Store your Xtenders out of the sun. Hanging brackets are available for purchase from FendX. Avoid bending or placing heavy objects on the Xtenders during storage as this may distort their shape. If bending does occur placing the fender in the warm sun can help reshape the fender but some damage may be permanent.

    10. Reinstalling the Xtenders. – please repeat steps 5 and 6.
